Lifestyle Transition Coaching
The first step in any transition is careful, detailed planning. Often, our clients are too close to the immediate problem to see all of the options and opportunities. Additionally, most do not have experience in lifestyle transitions or are under too much stress to deal effectively.

The M.Quinn Design Team has experience in all aspects of transition management, and they have access to specialists in all aspects of the process. They analyze the client’s situation, develop options and present them with recommendations.

Once a course of action has been selected, a detailed Transition Plan is prepared with tasks, schedule and costs. Based on the client’s decisions, M. Quinn Designs can coordinate and oversee the entire process. The transition plan is key to the success of the transition whether it is “do-it-yourself,” “hire-it-out” or a combination of the two. Careful, detailed planning and coordination serve to control and minimize the client’s costs.

Move to Accessible Residence

Sometimes the best choice is to move to an accessible residence.  This requires the most planning to ensure a successful move.  First, the new residence must be selected; that requires an assessment of the client’s needs and resources.  Second the accommodations required in the new residence mist be designed and installed.  In the meantime, the disposition of the existing residence must be planned.   That can involve everything from staging, necessary repairs and sale to downsizing and temporary housing.  The final step is the move itself.  The M.Quinn Design Team has handled all phases of moving to an accessible residence and executive relocation for over thirty-five years.

Accessibility accommodations are customized to the specific need of our clients. While conforming to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), M. Quinn Designs tailors its designs and product selections to the individual capabilities of the user. At the same time, the installation is designed to fit into the aesthetics and overall ambiance of the room. An accessible space should not appear “institutional.” Many accommodations involve improved lighting, furniture and accessory placement, and material selections.

Evaluating the Aging Eye

As the eye ages, changes take place that reduce visual performance.  By paying careful attention to the selection, placement and aiming of light sources and the design of the visual environment, occupants can perform their daily routine comfortably and productively.

M. Quinn Designs’ lighting specialists evaluate the visual performance of the client, assess the current visual environment and recommend lighting changes to optimize the visual performance. Often the proposed changes are easily accomplished at reasonable cost and also improve the ambiance for individuals having normal vision.

Move Management

We have organized and implemented hundreds of major design and moving projects. So this process is second nature. We want you to relax as we start to organize your move.

First let’s set the calendar for your packing and moving timetable.  Then review the items you are going to want, need and otherwise can’t live without! What “must have” items to keep, give to family or donate to charity? Then we design a floor plan that uses the pieces you want.

Next, we schedule the packing, load-out, transport and move-in.  Temporary storage is arranged along with any special handling.   Housing during the relocation is also arranged so that the client has a place to stay when their residences are not available. We guide you through this entire project communicating and organizing all the details for you!

Inventory / Appraisal

1. Inventory- We prepare a listing of what you are keeping, selling, donating, giving to family.
2. For donated items and items that are being moved, we prepare a valuation for tax purposes and provide receipts for the donated items that we deliver. For items that are being moved, we prepare an appraisal that is used for the insurance valuation.

Downsizing

Downsizing and the disposition of belongings is a difficult process.  Our staff guides the client through the decision process and the sorting and disposition of all materials.  Consideration is given to archiving important items, history and heritage, documentation of articles and their provenance.  Selected items may be given to family and friends, placed for sale, or donated.  Sensitive items are sent out for secure destruction.  Consideration is always given to the preservation of memories.

A process designed to produce multiple offers above the listing price and a quick sale.

1. Providing all services necessary to improve the interior and exterior: Remodeling to ready the house for sale including: painting, floors, plumbing, code requirements, window washing, cleaning and landscaping.
2. All furniture, lighting fixtures, artwork, window treatments, linens and accessories are provided to present your residence in the best staged light!!

Site Preparation for Remodeling

1. Clear the site for construction. The Pack-N-Move™ team will prepare the construction site for the construction Crew
   1. Downsize & De-clutter. Working with the client the Pack-N-Move crew will identify and dispose of items that will not be returned to the space following construction.
   2. Remove & store all furnishings. Items that are to be retained by the client are placed in storage.  Storage may be either on-site or at a remote location.
2. Clean-up after construction for occupancy. Following completion of the work and removal of the construction debris, The M.Quinn Design Team will thoroughly clean the space in preparation for occupancy.
3. Reinstall furnishings and accessories.  Once the space is prepared, the furnishings and any new items will be placed into the renovated space along with accessories and artwork
